TRE CIME DI LAVAREDO

You can drive up to the cime di Lavaredo along the very steep toll road from lake Misurina. The first man to conquer the summit of the Cima Grande was the Austrian Paul Grohnasim in 1863. the intrepid Dimai and Comici brothers then scaled the north face of the Cima Grande, in 1911 Paul Preuss who, like the Comici brothers was pioneer of free climbing, conquered the insidiously slender Cima Piccolissima.

For walkers instead the best view of the three stone giants is from the Forcella Lavaredo( an hour and a half walking from the Auronzo car park).
