The historical background of the discovery
The XVII and XVIII century was a great period of development of the economy. Universities, academies and libraries were born. Redi and Spallanzani contributed to the evolution of science of that period. But for all the 17th century every new discovery, that it could change the life and the old ideas, came hindered by the "Inquisizione" also for means of tortures until the scientist had not renounced the him discoveries. Like Galileo Galilei, scientist of the '600, he discovered that the planets, comprised the Earth, turn around the Sun. Galilei was carried to Rome where the Inquisizione made it to renounce its theory. Together to the economy the bourgeoisie (merchants, craftsmen, bankers...) developed and the absolute monarchies in the countries of the North Europe consolidated, mostly of protestant religion.
